I started this month with respite. You know that concept when your body says you have simply had enough. Typically I hold stress in, which is not healthy. I am working on relying on my friends, more. Sooooo I ran off to Washington, DC to spend quality time with people who have known me for over 30 years.

It was a blessing just to be at peace and to know that my daughter was in a safe space as I tried to grapple with acceptance and life changes. For parents who take care of loved ones on the autism spectrum it is important to take care of yourself.

Respite!
