Kimberly G. Jackson
Attorney. Advocate. Educator. Policy Leader.
St. Petersburg, FL
Attorney Kimberly G. Jackson is a respected voice in the Tampa Bay legal and education communities, known for her decades of work as an attorney, advocate, educator, and policy leader. A native of Crete, Illinois, Kimberly has devoted her career to education, community leadership, local and state policy analysis, and advocating for families who have minors with cognitive disabilities.
Kimberly received her B.A. in Political Science from Spelman College, her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, with a concentration in International Relations, and her Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Following law school, Kimberly clerked for the Honorable Mary S. Scriven, then Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Florida, and went on to practice trial law locally in St. Petersburg and Tampa, and as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of St. Petersburg. Through that work, she developed a deep passion for nonprofit advocacy alongside family-oriented agencies.
My work is rooted in experience, not just credentials. And I'm here to share what I've learned to help others thrive.
Following her daughter's diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome, Kimberly transitioned from her trial practice into higher education. At St. Petersburg College, she taught American Government, State and Local Government, and International Relations, and led and mentored the SPC Model United Nations scholars. She served as Political Science Chair before becoming the Executive Director of the Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions (ISPS), where she reorganized, rebranded, and reinvigorated the Institute to educate and engage students and citizens in support of effective, solution-oriented public policy throughout the Florida College System, the community, and the state.
Through Kimberly G. Jackson Attorney at Law, PLLC, Kimberly now offers legal, local and state policy analysis, advocacy and consulting services. Drawing on her legal training, her years in public policy and education, and her lived experience as a parent, her practice also includes helping families navigate the systems that affect their children's futures with the same commitment to access, equity, and personal attention that has defined her career.
