Milestone Moment

Our daughters are entering a new phase. One is turning 26 and is maturing rapidly before our eyes and the other is turning 19 and starting that journey. It all happens so very fast. When you are in it and I mean with children under 12-you cannot believe how much your daily lives revolve around caring for others. But slowly the dynamic changes and all of sudden, the school activities, car pools, social requirements and family vacations fade away. My husband and I are very present right now because not too long ago we did not know how we would care for a person with Autism Spectrum Disorder and how our family would not only survive this new level of stress but continue to thrive. It is not lost on us the many years of trying to give one child a typical experience while trying to lift up and support the other child. Many, many years of prayer, sacrifice and hard work. This is a MILESTONE moment and one we do not take lightly.
