My daughter is graduating from college. She's not graduating from any college -she's graduating from my alma mater, Spelman College. She's not just graduating from any college-she's graduating from my alma mater, Spelman College summa cum laude.

She's not just graduating from any college she is graduating from THE women's premier institution for exceptionality with Teo degrees- English and Theater.

I could have never imagined being so in awe of her innovative spirit, her fierce independence and willingness to take bold steps to achieve her goals. My daughter is a survivor. She has had a lot on her plate and I am proud because she made a decision to grow and learn from family challenges and move forward with her future.

Whatever our souls are made of, yours and mine are the same
