Fiercely Independent

This was quite a week. Our daughter finished 10th grade successfully, passed entrance exams to attend college, participated in a fashion show and decided she would be ok with me leaving for three weeks. I was speechless this week. After years of advocating we see the changing of guards. Our daughter is navigating just fine and is fiercely independent.

In past blogs I explored how it felt to hear questions or comments about our daughter’s trajectory.

Do you think she will make it? How will she work? What will life look like for her socially? AND the biggest annoyance- Will she have any level of a normal life?

The question becomes do any of us have any level of normalcy? I suppose it depends on your perspective. Here is what I know. Every time the world said no to our daughter - she found a way to pívot and say yes. We believe in our daughter’s journey- whatever it looks like- our daughter Thais the skills to succeed.
